“Shhh…Don’t tell mummy, I have been a naughty girl…” she said with a mischievous grin on her face.
It was drizzling lightly after the rain when she went to the park to play. Her mother had allowed her out to play on such a day. She was not sleepy and have no one to play with. When she was at the playground, there was only a few handful of children from around her neighborhood.
The adults were sitting on the benches provided while they went off to play with the other kids. She waved towards her mother with a face full of glee, as her mother returned the wave with a kiss. Such a warm scene that was. The rain earlier in the day had dampened the ground but still the playground was playable. She was laughing and giggling with the other children as they play the game of tag.
We went on to play the game of hide and seek and during that time while we were hiding, we were jumping on the puddles of water. The dirty water splashing everywhere, as they jumped up and down on it. Laughters of joy could be heard whiles the adults sat there and talk to one another.
When the day ends, it was time for goodbye. Though we were reluctant, apart from the anticipated nagging or reprimand for dirtying ourselves, but we were reluctant to leave the friends that we just made.
